今天上网查email, 发现一封Hotwire的, 说自己在cancun hotel zone的旅馆Gran Meliá Cancún受飓风Wilma的影响, 估计十二月二十日也没戏, 建议取消, 钱全部返还. 连忙去Gran Meliá Cancún的主页看个究竟, 果然官方通知是这么说的:

Because of the impact of Hurricane Wilma, the Gran Meliá Cancún resort is temporarily closed and unable to accept reservations through January 10th, 2006. Should this situation change, we will keep our customers updated. Guests who are due to arrive through January 10th, should call our Central Reservations office at (888) 95-MELIA so we may assist in re-booking their trip or securing alternative accommodations at another Sol Meliá hotel. Those in countries outside of the United States seeking information about the impact of Hurricane Wilma should call the Sol Meliá customer service number in their country. Thank you for your understanding.

看来Cancun的灾区重建工作没有我想象的那么容易啊. 可惜那出门就是海边的感觉了. 又得花时间重新找旅馆了, 看来得往南边找找看了, 希望能有个好deal.

Some update about cancun recovery:

Airport:
On October 31, normal operations will resume, with carriers such as Mexicana Airlines, US Air 3000 (Apple Vacations) and others reestablishing normal service.

Hotels:
Of Cancun’s 27,500 lodging units, the Cancun CVB projects the following re-opening schedule:
