Completing Online Check-In for all the guests in your reservation will save you from having to fill out forms at the pier, which means your cruise vacation adventure can start immediately. When you arrive at the pier with everyone in your party, you’ll just need your SetSail Pass, identification documents and credit card used to establish onboard expense accounts for each guest to board and begin your adventure.
SetSail Pass will be printed when you finish the online checkin.
4. Read Cruises forums for tips
1) When you arrive onboard, there are a number of things you can do to improve your chances of having a great week.
- go to the dining room and make sure you’re ok with your seating assignment.
-You should also book your specialty restaurant/spa appointments the first day if you want.
2) Self-Service Laundry facilities are not provided onboard any Royal Caribbean International ships; however, full laundry and dry cleaning services are provided with rate.
3) If you want to take advantage of the pool early on embarkation day, pack what you need for swimming and sunning in a carryon bag(s). Luggage may not be delivered until late afternoon or early evening.
Hand carry all medications, travel documents, valuables and any other items, such as toiletries and a change of clothes that will meet your needs until your luggage is delivered to your stateroom.
4) While tipping is of a personal nature, here are the guidelines set by the Royal Caribbean to help those that may have questions.
Suite attendant:$5.75 USDa day per guest(does not include a Junior Suite)
Stateroom attendant:$3.50 USDa day per guest
Dining Room Waiter:$3.50 USDa day per guest
Assistant Waiter:$2.00 USDa day per guest
Headwaiter:$.75 USDa day per guest
Gratuities may be paid in the following ways:
Pre paid by having them added to your reservation by your booking agent.
Added to your onboard SeaPass account.
Paid in cash at the end of the cruise
5) Bring along a highlighter. That way, as you read the ship’s Cruise Compass in the evening, you can note the activities that interest you as you plan the next day.
6) dress codes onboard
There are three distinct types of evenings onboard: casual, smart casual and formal. Suggested guidelines for these nights are:
Casual: Sport shirts and slacks for men, sundresses or pants for women
Smart Casual: Jackets and ties for men, dresses or pantsuits for women
Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses for women
7 to 9 - night cruises include two formal nights, one smart casual night and the remainder nights casual.
7) RCI does provide beach towels but if they are lost and not returned to your cabin, your Sea Pass card will be charged $25.00 per towel.
8) Keep your watch set to the same time as your ship’s time. It may not be the same time in the ports on your itinerary and you do not want to miss the ship when it leaves. Make sure you are aware of your ship’s sailing time and be back on board at least 30 minutes before. The cost of catching up to your ship at the next port comes out of your pocket.
9) Boarding time
While your cruise documents will likely advise you to not arrive at the pier until 2:00pm, usually boarding is permitted beginning at approximately 11:00am, depending on how long it takes the passengers from the previous cruise to disembark. If you arrive at the pier at 11:00am, you should be able to board quite soon thereafter.
You may not be able to go to your cabin when you board, as cabins are not usually available until after 1:00pm.
10) Check out the ship’s floorplans before you go. It’s so much easier to get around if you have some idea of where things are.
11) Royal Caribbean has a youth program called “Adventure Ocean”.
Program Age Groups
Aquanauts - 3-5 Years
Explorers - 6-8 Years
Voyagers - 9-11 Years
Navigators - 12-14 Years
Guests - 15-17 Years
12) Wi-Fi Access
As of December 18, 2005, all nineteen Royal Caribbean International ships have Wi-Fi access.
The cost for Internet access either by the Internet Workstation or the guest’s own laptop for Wi-Fi is below:
Base rate is $.50 per minute or the guest may choose from one of our prepaid packages: $25.00 for 60 minutes $35.00 for 90 minutes $50.00 for 150 minutes.
13) Photos
get photos taken with every ship’s photographer that you can. There will be lots of chances with different backgrounds, poses & occasions. However, don’t buy them right away as they appear on the Photo Gallery racks. Just locate your photos and keep stacking them up behind the latest one each day. Or, let the Photo Shop desk hold them for you. Then on the last full day of your cruise, go through them all and then pick out which ones you want to purchase.
14) Need cash on board?
Why pay ATM fees? You can get cash from the casino cashier which is charged to your seapass card. It is charged as part of your total seapass bill, not as a cash advance and RCCL does not charge a fee. There is a limit of $2000 per day.
15) Soon as I get on the ship, and into my cabin I like to book my excursion on the television. So I don’t have to worry about any sell out of that excursion.
16) There is an extra charge for Johnny Rockets, but not for the Seaview Cafe.
